Mission: Skull[edit | edit source]

In 1973, the Vietnam War was beginning to die down, however massive protests were being held in Washington, D.C. with protestors arguing to end U.S involvement in the war among other issues such as equality for women.

At this time, the scientific government agency Monarch was on the verge of being bankrupted. An uncharted region in the Pacific Ocean dubbed "Skull Island" was recently discovered via satellite at this time, with Monarch official Bill Randa proposed to U.S Senator Willis to lead an expedition to the island with the sole purpose to uncover the existence of Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms there before the Russians. He required a military escort a recruited a helicopter squadron called the Sky Devils to the expedition.

During the war, Mason Weaver was an anti-war photographer who was recruited to join the Monarch expedition to Skull Island.
