(Godzilla 3D to the MAX, ゴジラ 3D^?, Gojira Surī-Dī) is an upcoming 3-D IMAX film installment into the franchise.

The movie is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on September 12th 2007, with a Japanese theatrical release to follow on a to be announced 2008 date. Aside from the 3-D IMAX format, the film is planned to be shot in 70mm film and is slated to be 40 minutes long. However, as of January 21, 2007, the film's developers hasn't actually received funding from Toho yet[1] and with production believed to have halted for the time being. A cast and musical composer have yet been announced as of February 5, 2007.

It will be helmed by Yoshimitsu Banno, who previously directed Godzilla vs. Hedorah in 1971, and Keith Melton. 3D to the MAX will be produced by Kenji Okuhira and Brian Rogers respectively. The film's production is being done by Advanced Audiovisual Production, director Banno's own company stationed in Japan, and is being planned to target the American market along with an American cast. However, Toho, the creators of Godzilla, will act as technical advisors over the Godzilla character and will distribute the film in Japan. Special effects will be handed by Eiichi Asada.

Plot Summary

A new monster called Deathla, appears and awaken Godzilla from hibernation in the Iguazu Falls, located between Argentina and Brazil. A battle ensues and progressed to Mexico City and finally concludes in Las Vegas.

Trivia

One older script called for the final battle to take place on the site of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks in New York City.

Extremely [[Superspeed|fast]] and moderately strong, Megaguirus could [[fly]] circles around her foes and pummel them with quick combos. Like Mothra, she is immune to sweep attacks and low attacks, though she is vulnerable to atomic attacks. She is unique in that she starts with no energy. Any attacks with her tail that connect steal energy from her foe and build her energy bar. When she stabs with her tail, Megaguirus can either drain a lot of energy, some health, or copy her opponent's beam weapon (this does not work with [[Destroyah]], [[MOGUERA]] 2, [[Baragon]], [[Anguirus]], [[Jet Jaguar]], or larvae [[Mothra]]). She can fire either a glowing sphere that tracks her opponent and detonates on contact, or the opponent's beam weapon if she copied it (her energy bar must be at a certain high level to do this). Megaguirus' special ability, Inertia-less Flight, doubles her movement and attack speed for a time, allowing her to lay into opponents and beat them senseless with super-fast attacks. Her Rage attack sends three swarms of Meganula that chase the foe and latch on, stunning them and draining health and energy for their queen.
