Monarch is a major scientific organization that studies the existence of Titans on Earth.

History[edit | edit source]

Foundation[edit | edit source]

Monarch was founded in 1946 by President Harry S. Truman to uncover the existence of Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms (later renamed Titans). At first, they were created to study, hunt or kill any Titans to keep the the Titan's existence unknown from the public.

1950's[edit | edit source]

In 1954, they worked with the U.S military to lure Godzilla to Bikini Atoll and kill him with an atomic bomb. However, the attempt failed and Godzilla remained dormant for several decades.

1970's[edit | edit source]

Mission: Skull[edit | edit source]

In 1973, Monarch had discovered an uncharted region in the Pacific Ocean known as "Skull Island". Monarch official William "Bill" Randa along with Monarch biologists San Lin and Houston Brooks set out an expedition to Skull Island to hunt for Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms and sought a military escort to the island to drop bombs to lure the creatures. He met with Colonel Preston Packard in Saigon and recruited a squadron called the Sky Devils. He also recruited anti-war photographer Mason Weaver and former British Air Force Colonel James Conrad. There they encountered Kong, the Iwi people, the vicious Skull Crawlers, and other creatures, as well as Hank Marlow, a World War II pilot who was marooned on the island since 1944 along with Gunpei Ikari (though the latter was killed by a Skull Crawler.) During the expedition, Randa, Nieves, Packard and most of the Sky Devils squadron were killed. They also witnessed the battle against Kong and Ramarak. (The Skull Crawler alpha and the one responsible for killing Kong's parents). After the expedition, Weaver and Conrad were recruited into Monarch. San and Brooks deduced that humanity wasn't the dominant species on Earth as there were other beings that predated them. They also revealed that Kong wasn't the only king and displayed classified Monarch information displaying cave drawings of other ancient beings who once ruled the world as well such as Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah.

1990's[edit | edit source]

Janjira Incident[edit | edit source]

In 1999, Monarch assisted in the coverup of a MUTO attack on the nuclear power plant in JanjiraJapan and studied the creature as he fed on the reactor.

21st Century[edit | edit source]

Attacks of 2014[edit | edit source]

In 2014, a male MUTO emerged from his cocoon in 2014 and proved impervious to Monarch's attempts to destroy him. Godzilla intercepted the MUTO in Honolulu, with the ensuing battle revealing the existence of giant monsters to the public. Godzilla ultimately killed the MUTO and his mate in San Francisco and returned to the sea.

Attacks of 2019[edit | edit source]

By 2019, Monarch's existence had become public knowledge as well. The organization subsequently expanded, with at least 67 outposts around the globe. At this time, Monarch's mission had changed from hunting and containing MUTOs to discovering and protecting Titans, which it believed were essential to the preservation of life on Earth. Titans under observation included Mothra in ChinaRodan in a Mexican volcano, and a creature designated "Monster Zero" frozen in Antarctica.

Post-Attacks of 2019[edit | edit source]

Afterward King Ghidorah's demise in the Battle of Boston, Monarch had became more influential and released its information and research to the public. Monarch had also boost forces around Skull Island after rumors of seismic disturbances and instability on the island. In the wake of these events, Monarch is also seeking for clues to the origins of the Titans beneath Skull Island and soon discovered a cave painting of Godzilla and Kong battling each other.
